I picked The Cricket in Times Square because I have read some of it and I really liked it. I plan to have a QR Code on my shelf. I'm also gonna have a picture of a cricket and a Times Square picture. I will put a picture of a Newbery Award on there, too.

  2. I chose the Blue Sword because it is a Newbery honors winner. It was also on my shelf. I decided to put a "present" qr code. I also put a sword on my shelf because of the name the Blue Sword. I decided to type the name instead of cutting them out because it looks more professional. I put a Newbery honors picture on my shelf because my book won that award.

  3. I chose number the stars because it has been my favorite book since 3rd grade. It won a john newbwery medal and Lois Lowry won best selling author. Everyone that I know that has read this book has enjoyed it because you learn history in a more exciting way than just a textbook.

I chose " Your Career in Parks and Recreation" because this is a book that tells people about different outdoor careers such as game wardens, park rangers, or park maintenance workers. This book should be an easy read even though it's an older book. This book is located on the non-fiction shelf 331.7.

I chose "The Giver" by Lois Lowry because it is a book that Mrs. Porter's class read last year. The book can be really confusing if you don't read carefully and slowly. "The Giver" is a great book that extends the imagination of the reader's, especially in the end when you have to guess what happened to your favorite characters. I decided to use a gray base because they have no color in the village that Jonas lives in. I also printed out a picture of an apple because when Jonas was throwing an apple with his friend, he saw glimpses of color in the apple. I also put on my display a snowman, to represent the fun memories Jonas received from the Giver about fun times in the snow. I believe this is a great book and encourage anyone who hasn't read it to read it, because it's great.

  7. I chose to do a Black History Month theme shelf. It's not talking about just one book or just one person, it's talking about everybody involved in the Civil Rights Movement. I have Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., and Rosa Parks, and many more people that we don't know who still participated. Alyssa H.

I chose True Believers by Nicholas Sparks. I chose this because he is a good author and has great books. Also because the cover of this book has a light house and is surrounded by water and it reminds me of the beach. I decorated my display with bright blue fabric for the ocean. I also added a red sail boat.

  12. I chose "Inheritance" by Christopher Paolini because I've read this and it was amazing. The book was full of action, adventures, and is full of sword sorcery. I plan on putting a picture of each of the 4 dragons up there. I also am putting important parts of the book up on the shelf like a boat or crown. I won't tell why because you will have to read it.
